Is and As of Rock and Roll

Today in Theater 201 we went over the difference between is and as performance and this hit home for me and my theory of rock and roll.

Why this and not the artist of the week, well I am tired of writing artist profiles and Iron Maiden is holding the top spot (in-fact now it has a better lead than it had before) still so I am at-least hovering around the topic at hand.

It has long been my way of thinking that we have a very narrow method of defining just what something are and as some people have theorized that is just the western way of thinking. We like to compartmentalize and set things apart as a method of defining things.

This big emphasis on differences is often what drives us to say, “This is good music,” and similarly, “That is not music.” Its been hard for me to define this phenomenon other than that beauty is in the eye of the be holder but with what I learned in class today I think I can finally articulate myself properly. Dragon Force

Dragonforce
For our very first artist feature I will be reviewing none other than the soon to be legendary band DragonForce. DragonForce came together in 1999 with lead singer ZP Theart, on the guitar are Sam Totman and Herman Li, Frederic Leclercq on base, Busting guts on the drums we have Didier Almouzni and Vadim Pruzhanov on Keyboard. Most recently known for the song “Through the Fire and the Flames” which was featured on Guitar Hero 3 as the most difficult song out of the box, Dragon Force has topped the charts of our last.fm group with 6 members listening.
